Joining college is every young person’s dream. As you begin your college journey on a higher academic level, there are critical factors that you have to bear in mind.

The first thing you should seek to do is to familiarize yourself with the college environment. Know where the building are located, strive to master the college’s mission and vision know the names of faculty members, your next neighbor and other staff of the college as they will be of help very soon.

Get committed to college activities and spend time to study hard.  Do not forget that academics form the foundation of your being in college so utilize the learning resources in college. Visit the library often and read ahead of the course instructors to be well informed of your course work. You have heard that all work with no play makes Jack a dull boy. Do not focus on books alone but lead a balanced life by getting involved in other college co-curriculum activities. There are a lot of activities that go on in college. Keep your dreams and passion in games like playing football, volleyball, handball, rugby, badminton and swimming alive. Use such activities to perfect your skills and nurture your God given talents.

 You are joining college at a time when technology has advanced that you can almost feel the presence of your family members and loved ones with you. Make use of these technological devices like mobile phones and social media to communicate back home whenever you find time.

In conclusion, remember that joining college is one of the best privileges you can ever have. Think of the many others who wanted to be here today but faced financial constrain that prevented them from joining us. You are lucky to be here today. Make use of every moment that you will spend in college. Your journey has already begun. Make it worthwhile.
